Dublin City Council wants to remind the public about its spine-chilling line-up of family-friendly events for this year’s Halloween festivities.
The Council’s Community and Social Development Teams have been working with community groups throughout the city to bring you a truly spooktacular programme for Halloween 2024.

The Big Scream NEIC Halloween Community Festival 2024
The Big Scream Festival is part of the NEIC Halloween Community Festival and runs from October 22nd to October 31st. It features activities across Dublin 1 such as funfairs, a haunted house, a doggy dress-up parade, spooky history walks and film screenings, all designed to celebrate Halloween with the community.
The big finish is the spooktacular Big Scream Carnival on October 31st where local families can enjoy free rides on the Ghost Train along the Canal. For further information visit https://bigscream.ie/
Paranormal Investigation at the Mansion House
‘Paranormal Investigation’ (PG-13) is a brand-new event created for Halloween and hosted at Dublin’s historic Mansion House. Over four days starting Wednesday, October 30th, 1,500 teenagers will venture through the eerie rooms and haunted halls, delving into the supernatural hair-raising special effects, and chilling ghost stories from Dublin’s past.
The Pumpkin Patch in the Mansion House Garden will be open on Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd from 12pm to 4pm daily.
Dublin’s Liberties Community-Led Halloween Extravaganza
This Halloween night, The Liberties is set to transform into a thrilling playground of spooky delights as it hosts the highly anticipated Liberties Haunt Festival, a community-led event that is guaranteed to deliver a wickedly good time for all ages. The festival will take place from 5.00pm – 8.00pm at Thomas Court, Opposite St. Catherine’s Graveyard. The venue will come alive with a captivating array of carnival games, street performers and live stage acts. There’s no trick without a treat! Festival-goers will enjoy free goodies that will be distributed throughout the night.
Crumlin Halloween Festival
Taking place in Eamonn Ceannt – Park Velodrome. A spooky family festival from 12pm to 4pm with a Dress up Bike Parade starting at 11.30am on the big day. Activities include a ghost train, obstacle course, face painting, balloon modellers, fancy dress and lots more. All ages are welcome!
‘Booh! Cabra/Glasnevin Halloween Festival’
Dublin City Council Central Area Office in collaboration with local residents will have a programme of family-friendly events to celebrate the 2024 Halloween Festival. ‘Booh! Cabra/Glasnevin Halloween Festival’ runs from Sunday 28th to Thursday 31st October. Some of the events and activities will include giant outdoor movie screens, fire/pyrotechnic performances, magic shows and much more.
Finglas Fright Night Halloween Festival, Finglas Civic Centre, Mellowes Road
Finglas Fright Night Halloween Festival will take place once again on Tuesday 31st October from 6.30pm to 9.00pm. This family-friendly event will feature its usual array of carnival rides, games, music, magic and dance! All are welcome to attend this fun, safe, free family event.
Darndale Together After Dark
‘Darndale After Dark’ returns for a spooky evening of Halloween entertainment in Darndale Belcamp Village Centre on Thursday 31st October 2024, from 4 – 7pm featuring an energetic lineup of music, street theatre, DJ, dance, circus carousels and fireworks! All events are free and everyone is welcome.
D10 Halloween
D10 Halloween returns with a chilling programme suitable for all ages. Take part in a Zombie Run, visit the Equine Centre Haunted House, and have a fun time at the Halloween Hullabaloo, there will be a spooky film screening of the Nightmare Before Christmas all ending with a Firework Spectacular in Cherry Orchard Park at 7pm. Ballymun Otherworld Festival
‘The Otherworld Festival’ returns on Thursday 31st October from 6pm – 9pm. The new spooky location will be at Trinity Comprehensive School grounds. Featuring live entertainment, Witchesbrew Café, Circus Gerbola, funfair rides for kids and teens, arts and crafts tent with Easy Street, spooky monsters dance and play zone. The night will finish with a spectacular fireworks display.
Dockers & Demons
Dockers & Demons is back for another year of spooky fun! Taking place from 25th October – 1st November. The annual Halloween festival brings together the Ringsend, Irishtown and Docklands communities for a vibrant celebration.
